Description
Shot in January 2005, I had been strolling around the World Trade Center site around sunset. Coming around a corner this building under construction caught my eye. I framed the shot using the skewed perspective of the closest building.
Only recently, some 6 years later, I found out that this was Seven World Trade. If you are to visit this spot and look up today, you will see the new Freedom tower poking its top out from behind.
Turns out the 7 World trade was heavily damaged with a ten-story gash from the falling North tower on September 11th. It puts into perspective how terrible a day that was, when a building in Manhattan could be gouged open, burn all afternoon, and scarcely make it into the news.
