I tried a new technique with this print where each gum layer was coated with a regular brush in order to apply the colors locally. Each layer was then over-printed at a different exposure time. I wanted the portrait to emerge from the paper without clear borders or background to focus attention on my friend, photographed on her 21st birthday.
